Didsbury's Manchester Alliance City Glass Men’s Foursomes team continued their great run in one of the biggest team competitions in the region, as a 6-1 win over Macclesfield took them into the quarter-finals of the competition and two steps away from finals day at Blackley GC.
There were plenty of big wins along the way from a confident team of which the club can be very proud, and hopefully they can get a home draw in the quarter-finals against what will be very tough opposition.
The team wore black arm bands in memory of club legend, former Captain and President, and true gentleman Rod James whose funeral was held on the same day of the match.
They are the second Didsbury team to make a ‘major’ team quarter-final this season as the ladies Bell Cup team face a quarter-final against Great Lever and Farnworth at the neutral venue of Stand GC, with the reward being a finals day place at Bury GC on September 1st.
Our full support also goes to the Dunham Forest team, led by Peter Barber, who visit Denton in round three looking for another quarter-final slot.
