DIDSBURY Golf Club President Sandy Jones was blessed with the superb weather and a well presented course as a full field enjoyed the competition for the President’s Day trophies.
Sandy was there to welcome players from start to finish and was delighted with the support given to his memorable experience by staff and members on and off the course throughout a busy and pleasant day.
Due to Covid 19 there was no evening celebration and presentation but hopefully it may be possible to do this later in the year.
The challenge of the course saw few players beat their handicaps but there was a deserving winner of the President’s Trophy with Mike Brownsell posting a nett 65 to finish ahead of Colman O’Reilly 66 and Ken Jones who won a cpo on 68 from David Robinson and life member Andrew Murray.
The President’s Rings for the best gross score were won by Sam Poole with a cool putt on the 18th giving him a gross score of 73.
Didsbury chairman Billy Wells took the Vets prize after winning a cpo on 69.
