First Assistant Greenkeeper

First Assistant Greenkeeper
The Role

Didsbury Golf Club is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player who is passionate about greenkeeping. You will assist the Course Manager with the day-to-day preparation of the golf course in all aspects of grounds maintenance, health and safety and customer care, to ensure that the golf course is maintained to the highest possible standard. You will be expected to contribute to the development of the service and be part of a team.

Maintaining the golf course to the highest possible standard

Managing the greenkeeping team in the absence of the Course Manager

Using grass cutting machinery in a safe manner

Using machinery to maintain the course

Maintaining machinery in a safe manner

Using chemicals and fertiliser

Being able to identify pests and diseases

Construction work during Winter

Ideally the candidate should have:

A minimum of 3 years golf course greenkeeping experience

Be qualified to minimum level 2 NVQ

Have a flexible approach to working patterns

Be able to work without direct supervision and within a small team

Hold PA 1, 2, and 6 spraying certificates.

Hold chainsaw certificates.

The Package

The successful applicant will be offered a salary between £22k and £25k based on a 40 hour week including overtime on a rota basis, 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays.
